. Does your accountant give you money saving advice to help your business by telling you how to put more dollars in your pocket with little-known business concepts?
I think it's clear that a lot of accountants that specialize in business really can help people with real world business expertise. The fact is not everyone has the same expertise or is recognized for expertise in business acumen.
I think you want to look for accountants who are put in positions of responsibility on local boards, maybe nonprofits and, perhaps, somebody who has some real world experience dealing with organizations and running businesses. You want to look for somebody that has a real commitment to studying business and what works.
You're looking for practical guidance on money making strategies. All accountants should know how to figure out a break even in your business. All accountants should know how to structure your measurement tools that you can use in the day-to-day operation of your business to make sure that you'll have the right tools to be profitable.
You want somebody with an eye for the big picture and for the detail, and knowledge of profit producing systems and how to get things done.
These are all cores that if you're going to pay the money to hire an accountant and have a good peer advisor, these are the things you want.
You're also looking for somebody with support from a network of other professionals in your area, someone who knows something, even about sales and marketing, that actually produce consistent profits and is committed to spend the time and the resources to be the best.
Your business is everything you do. It's your life. It's your future. It's the thing you want to do. It's everything you can create and you want to get the best help you possibly can.
Another shocking fact, and this is from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Over a five year period, half of all business owners will
change their accountant even though changing is perceived as a very difficult process and educating a new accountant requires time that they just do not have. That comes to the fact where most accounts just do not have the right solution for their clients.
