There are mainly three ways to install Joomla.
The First:
The easiest one to install Joomla, directly using widely popular software known as CPanel. CPanel is provided by most of the web hosting companies as an interface to manage your hosting. An average hosting plan for Joomla will cost you roughly $10-12 per month. Log into CPanel and access one option known as fantastico. Once you click on the fantastico link you will find Joomla as by default selection.
Once you select Joomla option, all you need to do is to follow the wizard and login using credentials. This is the easiest method to install Joomla as you do not have to bother about creating database because it is created automatically. For beginners, this method is strongly recommended.
The Second:
Manual installation - if server does not support CPanel then this is the method most users uses to install Joomla on their server. This method is pretty complicated but do not get confused because you can find all steps in detail on official Joomla website.
As an overview, you can follow below steps as a general guide:
1.From Joomla official site, download the latest version of Joomla and upload the zip file to your server and unzip it.
2.Create a database and grant it to a user with full privilege.
3.Access your website and follow the installation wizard.
The Third:
Is meant for techies, those people who want to test Joomla on their local computer before making it live on the Internet. Prerequisite for this method is, a server must be installed in your computer because Joomla cannot run solely on a browser. You can download XAMPP and install this software in your computer. XAMPP will create a server environment and will allow you to run Joomla. There are other alternatives for server installation but so far XAMPP does a pretty good job overall in less time. It does not require much technical knowledge and is easy to pick up. Remember this method is easy for technical person, if you do not have much technical knowledge it will be difficult for you to handle XAMPP.
The first method is relatively easy if you have access to a server with CPanel software. Installation of Joomla can become little frustrating for you especially when you do not know what went wrong.
