Save Money While Having Fun
These days, people want to spend more time at home
, doing things as a family without having to go out and spend top dollar entertaining everybody. Have you tried taking a family of four to the movies lately? If you don't have a coupon or know somebody that can sneak you in the back door, you are going to drop about fifty dollars.
And that is if you don't go crazy at the snack bar, and sneak yourself in some sodas and candy. You have to buy some popcorn, it is hard to sneak popcorn into the theater unless maybe it is wintertime and you are wearing a puffy jacket. And remember, fifty dollars is if you see a regular movie, but all the kids movies are in 3D now and they are even more. You could spend between twelve and twenty dollars a person to see a 3D movie in the theater.
And that is not including snacks. It is getting ridiculous, spending a hundred dollars for a movie night for the family. Going to a movie used to be relaxing and fairly inexpensive when you considered other forms of entertainment. But you would be better off going bowling now and everybody knows how ridiculously expensive bowling has become. So what can you do? How about skipping a few movie theater outings and purchasing an HDTV for your home.
You can even go with a 3D television if you wish. For the cost of a few nights out, you can make everybody want to stay in and enjoy a movie night in. You can get an awesome theater like experience in your home with a widescreen HDTV and a high quality DVD player. Or, if you want to go a step farther, you can upgrade to a Blu-ray player and get a real HD quality picture and unbelievable sound quality. Add another component, a surround sound system and you will have to check the floor for spilled soda an popcorn to make sure that you are watching a movie in your own living room and you are not at the theater.
You can get these components fairly inexpensively now because they have become so popular. The real expense will be in the television, especially if you are picking out some new technology like a 3D television. But the movies are available cheaply compared to going to the theater. A new Blu-ray can be rented for just a few dollars or bought for under thirty dollars.
