Next, after scanning all the products that are purchased, you should total all of them. So, the customers know how much they should pay. This device usually has a "Total" key.
After the customers know how much they should pay, it is then their turn to decide how they will pay for the products they have bought. If they choose cash transaction, you only need to type in the amount they give you. Then, what you need is just pressing the button of "Cash", so the register knows that the transaction you are doing is a cash transaction. Next, it will automatically figure any change to the customer, and the drawer will open.
If the customer chooses to use a check for paying for the items he has bought, he should fill out the check for the amount of dollar and sign the check. Your job is typing in the amount written on the check and pressing the key of "Check". Then, you should insert it into the cash register to print the amount of money on the back of the check. If the register you are using has an electronic check reader, you will give the check back to the customer. He then needs to sign a slip that has been printed.
If the customer choose to pay fro the transaction with a credit/debit card, the process is also easy. If you use a credit card, you only need to total the transaction, type in the amount of money owed, and hit the key of "credit". Of course, the cash register must be completed with a card reader. Then, it will connect through the network and charge the card. Similar to the payment with a check, in the end of transaction, the customer must sign an electronic pad or a slip that is printed. A debit transaction is same as a credit one. However, the customer must input a security pin.
