Reviewing the MBM 55 Single Spindle Paper Drill
MBM makes some of the finest document finishing products in the world and they even make high-quality paper drills
. One such device is the MBM 55, a single spindle device that has a lot of great features. Here's everything you need to know about it.
Like a lot of the other paper drills on the market, the MBM 55 has the ability to put holes in a stack of paper that's 2 inches high. This is a great drilling capacity because it allows you to drill through hundreds of sheets in a very short amount of time. (It sure beats using a traditional hole punch.)
The MBM 55 is large enough to handle paper that's up to 14.75 inches long. Thus, you'll be able to process both letter- and legal-sized sheets with ease. (Letter-sized sheets are 8.5" x 11" while legal ones are 8.5" x 14".) This device's easy glide table measures approximately 19" x 10" so you'll have plenty of room in which to work. The table has ball bearings so it can be easily moved around. It's a nice feature to have especially if you're drilling more than one hole in your paper.
This machine comes with two drill bits. They're 1/4" and 5/16". If you want to work with bits of different sizes, you'll be pleased to know that this device can accommodate bits ranging from 7/64" to 1/2".
To make things easier for you, the MBM 55 comes with 5 preset drilling patterns and a quick-release clamp to keep your documents in line. The drilling patterns are for some of the most popular hole patterns, so this is a really helpful feature.
One thing to keep in mind is that the MBM 55 only has one spindle. This means you're going to have to drill your paper multiple times if you're trying to get, for example, a three-hole pattern. Since this machine has a the preset drilling patterns and easy guide table, it shouldn't take you too long to finish this task.
The MBM 55 is a tabletop device with approximate dimensions of 17" (depth) x 19" (width) x 25" (height). It won't take up too much room so it's good for small workspaces. However, you'll probably want help moving it because it weighs 87 pounds.
This is a heavy-duty device and it's well-constructed so you can use it a lot and not worry about it breaking down on you. It comes with a one-year warranty.
The MBM 55 is a great single spindle paper drill and it would be a great choice for any business or organization that needs such a device. This machine has a good drilling capacity and it can process paper that's almost 15 inches long. And there are a lot of features that make this device user-friendly such as the easy glide table and 5 preset drilling patterns. Plus, the unit is on the small side so it can be placed on a counter or table but it's still well-built and durable. In short, the MBM 55 is terrific, so be sure to take a look at it today.
