Nicolas Cages Season of the Witch is either going to be the most stunning movie about
evil witches ever made, or its gonna be the most stunningly awful movie starring Cage fighting evil witches ever made. I honestly dont see a middle ground here, folks. Either/or, this thing is going to be worth the price of admission just to find out. Though it might be better to save the the $40 bucks for tickets and concessions and looking like a big shot in front of Sally from Accounting and just Redbox the sucker instead. In the supernatural thriller Season of the Witch, Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl. .com, there is now a co-director listed named Peter Goddard, which is odd. Maybe there was a reason Lionsgate kept pushing the film back. Also, the fact that its being dumped into theaters in January should set off all kinds of warning bells. Ol Nic certainly looks utterly bored in the trailer, thats for sure.
