My Mad Millions - A Personal Review
My Mad Millions is the newest social networking game which has been launched on Facebook. There are many unique qualities to this game including the way it is being launched. My review will cover the launch of the game as well as the game play itself.
First, let's start with the GAME. The premise of the game is you must spend 300 BILLION DOLLARS without have anything but the clothes on your back when you are done. That sounds easy enough but once you get in the game you will realize it is going to be quite a challenge. Your ability to spend the money is limited by your Energy, Stamina, and Spending Power. Each of these are fueled qualities which you can increase by earning MM points. You earn MM points by achieving certain levels of game play.
You can spend your Billions by going on spending sprees, throwing parties, donating to charity, buying gifts for your entourage, consuming $80,000 bottles of champagne, gambling in the casino, battling with other MMM members, playing the stock market, gambling with a bookie, and, of course, shopping - shopping - shopping! But remember, you can't have anything left at the end of the game. No assets! Is it starting to sound harder? The bank interest alone is around $100,000 a day unless you transfer the money around.
There will definitely be some tricks to playing this game. Do you want to build up your Spending Power or your Attack Power for the MMM battles? These are all decisions you will have to make while spending your Billions.
So, for me, the concept of the game is fun. Who doesn't want to live the life of the Rich and Famous even if it is through a social networking game. It is fun to see what you can buy, where you could go, how you could help others and much, much more.
What else is unique about this game play is the game developer is going to PAY YOU TO PLAY. Yes, you read that right. Here is what the developer has to say: "The more you play My Mad Millions the more cash & prizes you can earn! Each day we calculate the daily Top 20% most active users who will then receive at least 1 Black Diamond Titanium Card! The method of determining the Top 20% is done in such a way that gives everyone equal opportunity. The more Black Diamond Cards you collect, the more cash & prizes you'll be able to redeem!" Wow, that sound kind of cool. A game that PAYS! Sure it is only the top 20% of the people playing the game but it sounds like if you receive a Black Diamond Card you are in that top 20%. So far, I have received, at least, one card each day. I guess we will see where this leads.
As for the Launch of the game, it has proven to be a joint effort between My Mad Millions, Facebook and Reward String. The membership base of Reward String, which is actually Peoplestring, is out there promoting this game like crazy. They have been given a 14 day launch window to promote MMM to the general public. This seems kind of odd a social networking site helping promote a game on another social networking site. So what is the catch? Well, it's not a catch really but to get paid to play MMM you must be a member of Reward String. So, while the game is actually played on Facebook, to get paid you must be a member of Reward String. This boils down to 3 companies helping each other grow. Now that is just plain good business for everyone involved. The membership base of Reward String is going to grow because Facebook members want to get paid to play. The Reward String members are encouraging you to play the game on Facebook thus increasing the time on site. The increased time on site is a valuable asset when talking to advertisers. All and all, this is a Win / Win for everyone involved. Especially the game My Mad Millions.
