Mister Steamy Review - Too Good to Be True?
The Mister Steamy is an as-seen-on-tv dryer ball that utilizes the power of steam. With such a simple concept and a product that claims to deliver revolutionary results, is this another TV shopping marketing ploy?
We all know home TV shopping products use the power of see-for-yourself infomercials that usually have manipulated results. Commercials use what seem like average, first-time users who partake inin realityscripted demos. This makes you wonder if the Mister Steamy is yet another one of those.
First things first, the product is not a unique concept. There are products out there called dryer balls which reduce drying time. In fact, they look a lot like the Mister Steamy and are usually sold in pairs.
What's unique about the Steamy is that it uses the heat generated by the dryer to create steamsteam that helps in drying, reduce static cling and spread additional fabric refreshers. Such comes with the package and they call it Fresh Shot.
To use the product, you simply need to add water to its coreonce you have the product, you will obviously know where the water goes. You then add a couple of drops of Fresh Shot and place the balls in the dryer. The balls literally roll over the fabricsall the while spreading steam and Fresh Shot.
During actual testing, the Mister Steamy was successful in reducing wrinkles. Our test consisted of two batchesfirst with just a couple of shirts and the other with more fabrics including towels and sheets. Both times it was able to reduce wrinkles and added a level of softness and fluffiness, although it worked better at the lesser load.
In all honesty, yes there is a level of exaggeration with how the infomercials presented the product. However, it did work to more than acceptable levels, and over all, it can reduce costs by eliminating the need for disposable dryer sheets.
