Maruti Suzuki A-star is the first car from Maruti Suzuki fitted with the latest invention in engine technology, the new generation KB Series engine. Powered with the K10B engine, the car is cautiously designed to meet the present as well as future emission norms in India as well as overseas.In the present scenario, the cars engine is in compliance with the BS-III emission norms. In India, the car is available in three variants, LXi, VXi, and the top-end version Zxi The innovative and powerful KB engine in the A-star churns out 66 bhp @ 6200 rpm and a torque of 90 Nm @ 3500 rpm with Distributor less ignition system. The engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.
With a turning radius of 4.5 metres for better maneuverability and a ground clearance of 170 mm, the A-star boasts of improved performance and high acceleration. The McPherson strut and coil spring front suspension and an independent trailing link at the rear helps in precise road handling and enhances riding comfort.Maruti A-star Test Drive speed sensitive power steering and low center of gravity cares for better stability and its having widest track width in these segments. Its pre fitted with ICATS Intelligent computerized anti theft system for safe and secure.
