Making Money From World Of Warcraft

Many things have changed since the technological revolution and the advancement of the computer age

. Not least of all is the emergence of something called E-sports. For many years now E-sports have been growing in popularity. Counter-Strike and Quake were among the first E-sports holding tournaments and leagues online.

Professional E-sports competitors can earn very large amounts of money - sometimes a 6 figure income. It should therefore not be surprising to you that E-sports and World of Warcraft were to form a glorious, and very lucrative, union. With millions of players and an established combat gameplay it seemed strange that the two had never been twined from the very start.

Although WoW has always involved battle it wasn't until the first expansion pack was released were players able to battle one and other in the Arenas.

In the Arena a group of WoW players could fight as a team of either two players, three players or five players. The Arena became a place where fierce competitive battles were fought as teams strived to win points and beat the complicated rating system that ranked them.

Teams from all over the world gathered together to do battle and fight for the very desirable top ranking spots.

It didn't take long for Blizzard to launch a tournament (for 5 player teams) where they offered a spot to the top 3 teams from each bracket to compete for a $10,000 top prize. Many thousands of established teams began battling for a place in the tournament and many more were created for the same reason.

For years prior to this World of Warcraft PvP expansion there were E-sport sponsors of other online games and it was no surprise that Warcraft caught their attention.

WSVG (World Series of Video Games), one of the top E-sport tournament companies signed a deal with Blizzard to host 3-player-team tournaments. With a top prize of ten thousand dollars on offer this new 3 player tournament created just as much interest as Blizzard's five player team tournament.

These three player team tournaments are very exciting to watch and seem to be the most popular of all tournaments. With its explosive popularity still rising the world of warcraft tournaments will now be shown on CBS. With CBS onboard with Blizzard to televise its five player tournaments CGS signed a deal to televise the 2 player battles.

With the PvP Arena prizes now dwarfing almost all other E-sports, many online E-sport players are migrating to World of Warcraft making it even more popular.
