One of the hottest topics in network marketing is leads and, specifically, MLM lead lists. Everyone is looking for the the cheapest leads, the highest quality leads, the most targeted leads, and the overall best MLM lead lists they can get.
While finding good MLM lead lists is important, the bigger issue is whether you are making as much money from each lead as you should be. After all, you go to a lot of trouble to find these leads, so you don't want to be leaving money on the table once you find them.
So why might you be making less on each prospect than you should be? Let's first define "leaving money on the table" to mean two things: (1) converting fewer people from your MLM lead lists, and (2) making fewer dollars per individual on your MLM lead list.
The mistake that many people make when trying to grow an MLM business is to focus solely on getting people into their downline. That is the end all, be all objective. It is this mindset that leads not only to a failure to grow a successful MLM business, but also to leaving a LOT of money on the table.
When you look at your MLM lead lists, what you should see is a long-term customer and member of your list (and not a one-time sale). By focusing solely on trying to get people to jump on the business opportunity, you will not only completely lose some of your leads, but you will also make a lot less money on the leads you do convert.
As a matter of fact, you SHOULD NOT even mention the company or your manufacturer of your products. People buy from peoplenot some company they've likely never heard of anyway.
So the first step to stop leaving money on the table, is to switch gears and have everything in your marketing be geared toward positioning you as the leading authority -- THE expert -- in your niche field. Why?
Well, think about what makes an MLM lead list a good one. It is that it is filled with people who are looking for what you are offering. No -- not for the business opportunity you are offering, but for the answers or solutions you can provide to their problems.
You want to position yourself as the expert, because you want to develop a relationship and a trust with the people on your MLM lead lists. You want to focus, therefore, on getting people from an MLM lead list to YOUR list. Here's why and how you do that...
To start off, and at minimum, you want to have the following things set up:
1.Your data capture (squeeze) page
2. Your follow up emails
3. Sales letters/videos
4. Blogs
5. Webinars/teleconferences
None of these things should ever lead with the name of your product or with the business opportunity!
What you should be doing is establishing a relationship with people. Give them something information-rich (not a disguised sales piece) for opting into your list. You want to guide your prospects down a very deliberate, thought out marketing funnel that's designed to relate, identify and solve their problems. Nothing more nothing less.
Next, you want to create a couple of "entry level" products, which might only sell for $20-$40. Be sure that these products give GREAT content and information about something within your area of expertise (and not about the business, the product, or the opportunity). You want every person from your MLM lead lists who buys one or more of these products to feel like they have received huge value for their money (in terms of the quality of what they get for their money).
Sure, you can offset your costs in purchasing the MLM lead lists with what you will earn on the sale of these products. There is a bigger purpose behind them though is the value of getting each of these people into your "buyer file."
Perhaps the most important thing you can learn from this article is this: The money is NOT in the listit's in the RELATIONSHIP you have with the people on your list. The REAL MONEY is in the relationship you have with your BUYER FILE.
When you build a solid relationship and a trust with people, that is when they will WANT to give you their money! The truth is that about 75% or more of your revenues will come from people who have already given you money.
That is why focusing solely on selling people on the business opportunity -- even if you are successful in doing so -- is not the best strategy and WILL leave money on the table. If you are leaving money on the table with even half of the people on each of your MLM lead lists, think how much money you have lost over time. Too much to think about . . .
So make a change in your marketing mindset, and you will start to see your revenues explode.
