Luxury Bed Sheets: Analyzing Thread Count And Fabric For A Good Purchase
The environment of a room is highly dependent on the way it is decorated and the
decoration of a room is directly linked to the type of luxury bed sheets that it has. Furthermore, even if this was not enough, a good quality luxury bed sheet can lead to a person being a lot more rested and hence a lot more energetic in the morning. Looking at the import of the above mentioned statements, it comes as no surprise that people fuss a lot about the kind of bed sheets that they have. However, these days, owing to the variety of options that the internet has unleashed, it has become particularly difficult to get a good quality product.
Purchasing luxury bed sheets, nowadays, involves a lot more information and knowledge as against earlier days when the local store would only have the best products available. Even so, you can counter this saturation of the luxury sheets market simply by evaluating your potential purchases on the basis of their thread count and the fabric being used because these two things are the fundamental aspects on which the quality of luxury bed sheets is based.
Thread count is, basically, the number of threads per square inch of the bed sheet. Hence, as is logical, the higher the thread count is the more comfortable and high quality the luxury bed sheets are going to be. In fact, bed sheets with thread counts above 300 are considered to be of high quality owing to their higher durability and better comfort levels. Alternatively, bed sheets with a thread count falling in the bracket of 80 to 120 are coarser and rough to boot.
Additionally, the fabric of the luxury bed sheets also needs to be of high quality for the bed sheets to be luxurious and comfortable. Cotton, by far, is the best material for making bed sheets because of its breathability and natural feel. There are mainly four types of sub categories of cotton. The following are descriptions.
1. Muslin:
The muslin fabric has a thread count of anything between 140 and 180 which puts it firmly on the lower rungs of the quality meter of cotton. Hence, muslin bed sheets are mainly used only for children's character themed bedding because it needs to be tough and easy to replace.
2. Flannel:
Flannel luxury bed sheets are more appropriate for places that are cold or see an especially extended winter season. These sheets are typically blended with some synthetic material so as to make them able to hold heat.
3. Oxford:
Bedroom sheets made up of oxford fabric tend to be soft but significantly heavy.
4. Percale:
Percale luxury bed sheets would fall near the top end of the quality spectrum of bed sheets because their thread count is easily in the higher range. Owing to higher thread counts, these types of luxury bed sheets are smooth, flat, lustrous and very durable.
It should be noted that when it comes to luxury bed sheets, Egyptian cotton is, by far, the best option.
