Or in other words, one can't do without communication: an employee has to communicate with his colleagues, his superiors and above all, his clients. So in this sense, we really got to make a good study of how to handle our communication with others.
As the widespread of Internet, our business activities are more and more dependent on networks. Haven't you seen anyone now correspond with his clients through letters? Whenever you feel the need to correspond with your clients, you can just click on the keyboard and few seconds later your message is known by your client before another computer screen. You don't have to go all the way to where your client is. A click will fix it all. Another merit of it is that one can do business with clients overseas. In the past, due to the limits of demographic distance, foreign trade is almost impossible because the two trading parties can't sit together and negotiate over the trading terms. Or one has to travel by sea or by land and has their business done only after half a year or a whole year's strenuous travel. In the present time, the networks of business stretch further and further and more and more goods and service are going beyond national boundaries, transferring from one nation to the other. In this process, E-commerce plays an essential role. That's now how business are done. So now you know how important on-line communication is. And of course, telephone is another way of communication, but its importance has long been exceeded by Internet.
Now please let me talk about my perspective on business communication based on my own experience. I used to work in importing and exporting company which mainly deals in textile. And my main duty is offering our terms to the clients and reporting the clients' response to my boss. Yeah, it sounds easy, but actually it isn't. In communication with these foreign clients, I had to study jargons of this trade, their trading habits and many other things. You got to know how to use MSN, on-line trading system and on-line trading platform. All these elements will have a bearing on your communication between you and your clients.
