Hot Tub Retailers - The Good The Bad & The Ugly

There are some occupations worldwide that unfortunately do not have the respect that they truly deserve

. Garbage men, gravediggers, septic tank installers and retailers are all prime examples of this nasty stereotyping. Well it is true to say that every vocation has members of it that represent the good, the bad and the ugly, it would appear that retailers have a reputation that encompasses the last two while being underrepresented by the former. What makes a good hot tub retailer?

Any retailer, hot tub specialists especially, must know their product. They are confronted each day by members of the general public who have a lot of knowledge themselves about the product range through extensive research or previously owing one, to the other extreme of those wishing complete guidance in the purchase of a hot tub. Others will fit anywhere along the spectrum. A good seller will be able to guide the well-equipped consumer without appearing condescending, assist the less informed buyer without appearing patronising while being able to cater for all those in between. A bad or ugly one is pompous, arrogant and disdainful.

A good hot tub retailer will be able to build a rapport with the customer through their friendly yet professional manner. This will consequently develop trust and provide a safe environment for them to ask questions and feel as though they are getting value for money. The retailer selling a product that is right for their situation not just the most expensive one on the market can reinforce this. A bad or ugly one will not spend time with the interested party, not return calls as soon as possible, if at all, not provide eye contact when dealing directly with them or not remember them from visit to visit. Needless to say a bad or ugly seller will just recommend and pressure the buyer to purchase the most expensive hot tub in order to make a quick profit.

A good retailer will go that extra mile to see that their shopper is happy. They may offer special deals that are genuine such as the hot tub at the cheapest price they can possibly offer, free cleaning chemicals, free delivery and/or free installation. It may be in the form of ringing other stores within the chain to locate a desired hot tub that is not present in their shop or referring questions they are unable to answer to a more qualified person on staff. In the unlikely event of a complaint, they deal with it promptly with the underlying impression that the customer is always right.

Finally a good retailer will not just stop at the sale of the hot tub. They will ensure that the customer is happy with the overall product and use feedback to correct their sales technique is needed. A hot tub is a long time purchase, a bad or ugly seller will leave an impression but with a good retailer it will be one that will last a long time.
