If you plan to include transportation services, you may need to acquire at least two vehicles-a 5-seater car, and van. Equally important are the orientation, employee and payroll records and scheduling.
The licensing requirements vary from State to State. Hence, it is wise to check with your local government about them. Or, you can also consult a lawyer or Certified Public Accountant for business structure, sales tax, compensation and benefits of your employees, and business liability insurance. Doing a research online will also help.
It is recommended that you procure a Federal Employer Identification Number from the Internal Revenue Service. The office of the Secretary of State in your State is where you register your business. This means that you need to come up with a good name for your home-based business.
Upon approval of your business name, you may need to print brochures, letterheads and business cards for your home care business. Hosting or creating an official website for it is very helpful in your marketing campaign.
Hiring the best caregivers is very crucial. The profitability of your home-based business depends heavily on the quality of home care services that your business provides. Ensure that you have thoroughly screened the potential caregivers you will hire.
You may need to take much time doing the interview, checking references, doing background check and giving written of practical examinations. But, rest assured that everything should be done to the best of your home-based business.
