Hdtv Reviews - What Are They All About?

Writing HDTV reviews is not an easy job

Writing HDTV reviews is not an easy job. In fact, if you a fan of gadgets,

you must know that TVs are the murkiest because there are tons of technical

terms that is bound to confuse anyone. I have been following HDTVs for a

long time and it wasn't easy to digest all these concepts. I had to do a lot

of research on the Internet before finally becoming master of the game.

While writing HDTV Reviews, I mainly focus on the most looked for features

like picture quality, remote control, styling etc. I will discuss all of

them in detail in this article. I feel quite lucky because a lot of

manufacturers (almost all, in fact) send me their TVs for reviewing in my

labs. It takes me about 6-7 days to finish up a review after which I sent

the product back.

Writing HDTV Reviews might seem a tough job to do but once get the basics

clear in your head, things are quite easy. You might need to spend a lot of

time to understand what the technical concepts like dejudder processing,

color uniformity, etc. mean. I will now tell you what all I look for in a

TV.

Styling - A TV has to be stylish. An ugly TV will ruin your interior. I

won't say that I have had a lot of ugly TVs in my labs but there are a few

panels that I thought won't go well in your living room. I make sure to

trash them well in my HDTV Reviews. Most of the TVs, as you might know, have

black bezel and it is quite glossy. A glossy body means that it attracts a

lot of finger prints but this is not a problem since you don't touch the TV

too often. I review other gadgets like cellphones and laptops and hate it

when they come in glossy bodies. Just one touch and the phone will instantly

look dirty. What I want to say here is looks of the TV are important and I

always mention about it in my HDTV Reviews.

Remote - This gadget is used for controlling the TV and no matter how good

the panel is, a bad remote will spoil all the fun. I have written lots of

HDTV Reviews and in some TVs I have seen remotes which don't have a good

ergonomic feel. The placement of the buttons too has to be good. The

important buttons should be located close to the thumb whereas the less

important ones can be relegated to the top or bottom. I have seen a TV in my

labs having a QWERTY remote for communicating with the panel's internet

features. The clicker had a slide out keyboard typing on it was really

comfortable. It made the remote a bit bulky but that is not a problem

because you don't carry remotes in your pocket like a cell phone.

Interactive features - What initially started as an add-on feature has now

become a must on TVs. Big wigs like LG, Panasonic and Samsung give plethora

of interactive features. For my HDTV reviews, I see what kind of interactive

features the manufacturer is offering. I list all of them in my HDTV

reviews, if you have what you want, go ahead and buy the TV.

Picture quality: This is the biggest part in my HDTV Reviews and it consumes

a lot of time too. I throw a series of tests on the TV in order to see how

it performs. I have seen lots of TVs having good styling, good remote but

awful picture quality. You must spend big if you want good picture quality.

The 3D TVs are also coming here and I am looking forward to see what they

have to offer. In my HDTV reviews, the quality is the biggest part of the

article.
