In women, it is also said to affect the menstrual cycle. It may bring about hormonal imbalance and lead to other body disfunctioning. Do not try to lose weight when you are pregnant. If you dont want to add too much weight then you can carry out slight exercise or tone up your body well before getting pregnant. This will help you from gaining too much during pregnancy.
Add a lot of food products with anti oxidants. Consume orange, apples, black berries and other fruits with a lot of anti oxidants. This will free you from fat and other radicals. Spinach and carrots provide you the essential nutrients required by your body to keep you energized through out. It will help you burn out your calories and at the same time absorb essential nutrients.

To burn fat you must include some form of aerobic exercise, also known as cardiovascular exercise and you must build lean muscle by adding strength training exercises.
