Together, these machines efficiently dispose of all your unwanted documents, first into small pieces and then into compact bundles ready for recycling. Strengths:
Easy to use controls offer simple operation. Shredded waste is automatically compressed into tight packages measuring 20" by 16"-24" by 20" in size. The simple control panel provides safe and efficient performance. A bale ready display light alerts the user to a completed bundle so it can be removed and the next bale can start.
A wear-free hydraulics system is run by a powerful motor and requires very little maintenance to stay in top working order. The connections between the baler and shredder are designed to be dust-free, cutting down on wear and corrosion. Both of these features prolong the life of your machine.
The modern technological construction of this device provides a lower noise level than comparable machines. It also uses an energy saving design, which saves you money in electricity costs.
A top loading flap allows the addition of non-shredded waste to the bales. This is especially handy for non-confidential items or old cardboard you may need to dispose of.
When attached to a shredder, both machines are able to run at once. You'll save time by not needing to wait for one to finish before using the other.

Weaknesses:
As with most office machinery, the K88 is a heavy piece of equipment, weighing about 880 pounds. There are casters on the bottom for some added mobility but it will still be somewhat awkward and bulky to move around.
This machine can only be used with the FA500.2 Shredder. If you already own one or were planning to purchase a shredder as well, this won't be a problem for you. But if you're looking for a generic baler, be aware that shredders often only fit with a few different choices of balers.
Also similar to other machines this size, this one is pretty expensive. Even so, in the long run this baler will save you money in operating costs, energy consumption, and recycling services.
The HSM K88 is the perfect addition to the FA500.2 shredder in any business dealing with huge quantities of shredded material.
