Goal Setting Is The Right Step To Your Business Solutions
It takes a lot of business planning to set goals and generate good sales leads for your business
. On the other hand, if a business person fails to have specific business goals, his Company would be weak and would not grow.I was sitting in Starbucks one Wednesday morning, sipping on a cappuccino and I started thinking: I appreciate those small moments in my life when I can sit back and STOP, no thinking, no talking, just STOP. I took a deep sip and closed my eyes for just a minute. It started raining which just made me want to go home and crawl under the covers. WOW.Life is Good. I turned off my cell phone for just a minute so that I wouldn't get calls about work. By this time, it was really pouring down rain, hard, which is why I couldn't understand what was about to happen next. As I was looking around at the different customers, I noticed football paraphernalia on the walls,chairs,windowseverywhere. Ya think this is football season?! All of a sudden, a whole band of people came rushing in with wet umbrellas and wet hair. There were short people, tall people; where did all these people come from?! The football game isn't until Saturday. Is there a convention somewhere?! All of a sudden, my cell phone rang; it was my assistant.
So much for those small moments.
After speaking on the phone, I looked to my right and there was a middle aged looking man who wore a white cotton shirt and dress pants. He was trying to dry his briefcase. He was talking to another patron about how coffee keeps him awake and alert when he is working in his music shop. He said that his shop was almost two years old, but he still doesn't have the business "where he wants it". He said that he's looking forward to opening a chain of Music CD shops all over the country. However, he doesn't have much inventory in the store and he needs salespeople who can give good customer service. He said that the employees he hired have been lazy and not focused on the needs of the customers.
Just from hearing what this gentleman was saying, it seemed to me that his business would NEVER grow past his vision, let alone across the country.
In my opinion, to minimize your business dilemmas, you should always set clear goals for your business by:1.Having a vision and make it plain and specific2.Jotting down your goals3.Deciding how to achieve each goal what you will need to do. You need to change your bad business habits, for example: procrastination4.Being realistic in how long it will take you to achieve your goals. Remember, life still goes on.Being your own boss means knowing how to set clear goals, Even so, a business person who decides to take the wrong path to build his business, will eventually have to close the door to his business.
