Global Ambassador Seeking to Beat Child Prostitution by Empowering Pimps
Global Ambassador is a new web site dedicated to the international promotion of nations, cultural awareness, trade, tourism and all that every country has to offer. It will promote honesty, openness and the opportunity for each nation to present itself in the way it wishes to be seen and judged by the rest of the World. The skeletal site, www.global-ambassador.org is now live and about to begin securing national clients and advertisers. As it becomes better known it will start to grow its adopted campaign to fight child abuse on a global scale.
But how does anyone go about fighting and eradicating this enormous multimillion dollar problem? Global Ambassador founder, Trevor Krueger, always likens the task to trying to push back Niagara Falls with a paper cup. But the scale of the problem, though daunting can not be ignored. Saving even one child from enforced sex slavery is worth any amount of effort it takes to achieve that.
Though the problem probably exists in some form or level in every country in the World, Global Ambassador is starting by focussing its attention on the Far East, specifically Cambodia where the sex industry is particularly prolific. Children are kept locked up in brothels, often in cellars below the ramshackle building, only coming out to service a client with "boom boom" (full sex) or "yum yum" (oral sex). Children can be as young as just four years old and their clients are both local and international, a mixture of paedophiles and believers that AIDS can't be caught from a virgin. The truth is of course that it can, but young virgins still command a high price and provide attractive business for the pimps. I guess you could say that those girls who go on to continue a life as a prostitute are the lucky ones? Unbelievable but true, when you consider many are sold into the "spare body parts" market. Some girls will repeatedly have their hymens surgically replaced to ensure their ongoing profitability. Again, amazing but true.
If that last paragraph turns your stomach, as it should do, it may make you understand why Trevor Krueger and the Global Ambassador site are determined to do something to stop this abuse through their "Helping Hands" programme. Trevor Krueger wants to completely obliterate the sex tourism market that preys on children by making it both impossible and unprofitable to trade. Initially he will target the pimps, taking the children away and housing them in refuge homes built specially to cater for children who have never experienced real love and total care. Safety, nourishment and an education will be paramount as will counselling each child to prevent them running back to their former captives with whom they often build inexplicable bonds. Often, rescued children run back to "the devil they know" for fear that the rescue home is just a half way house between another pimp who may prove even more cruel and demanding than the last.
What's needed is to provide the brothel owners with an alternative industry that both makes them a better living and benefits the community. Global Ambassador is working on two main areas. Bio Fuel Production and the supply of Fresh Drinking Water using specialist American equipment that actually creates water from the air. Special self sufficient units are currently being designed to appeal to the pimps and also to service the refuge homes, subsequently making them almost self sufficient. Microfinance mechanisms will also be introduced to help even the poorest of people start their own businesses and thus avoid selling their children into prostitution in the first place.
But there is even more to do. Airlines, tour operators, hotels etc all have to buy in to this effort to end child abuse, for they too currently profit from the overseas traffic that brings men specifically to molest and rape the children. Trevor Krueger believes we can all do something about it and help stop it. How many of us know of single men who have been to Cambodia or Thailand on their own recently. Do we know what they did there? Not every paedophile preys on kids in our local parks; some practice their habit as a vacation distraction. Perhaps we should start looking closer to home to help prevent this distant "out of sight out of mind" problem.
Cambodia isn't the only target area for aid to help children in danger. India has a problem with "Infanticide" the practice of terminating the lives of baby girls who are often considered a worthless burden on the family. Even if they can find work as children the family may still be forced to pay an expensive dowry as the child grows and marries. Then, there are the lost children of Ghana who are sold into the fishing trade. Used to retrieve the catch from nets that lay on the sea or lakebed and often becoming entangled themselves drowning as a result. The list of child suffering goes on and on all over the World.
