Do You Really Save Money With Nutrisystem Flex?
Do You Really Save Money With Nutrisystem Flex
?
I've been getting a lot of emails asking about the specifics or details on the new Nutrisystem Flex program. I understand why the interest is there. Getting to take two days off per week can feel very tempting. Plus the cost is cheaper than the regular plan. And the results that many folks are getting on the flex program can still be very dramatic. Also the price point is much more attractive to folks who have never tried the nutrisystem diet or the foods before and just want to try it out without spending a lot of money. In the following article, I'll explore how much cheaper the flex plan really is to help you determine if it is that much of a better deal for you.
Do You Really Save A Lot Of Money By Going With Nutrisystem Flex Instead Of The Regular Plan? How Much Cheaper Is It? OK, for a second, let's put aside that the fact that you could theoretically take weekends completely off if you wanted to with the flex. Let's objectively look solely at the money. Let's look at the basic women's plan which gives you enough food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts) to eat five times each day for 28 days. If you go with auto ship, it's $299. If you want to go month to month, it's $333. It's important for me to mention that auto ship just means that they will send you more food when the month that you are on runs out. It doesn't mean that you are signing a contract. You can cancel at anytime. Not choosing auto ship just means that you'll remember when to place your next order on your own. But, since I can't possibly know which you're going to chose, I'm just going to average them at $316. This works out to be $2.25 per meal, but that is before you use coupons or specials. Often if you use the best discounts, you can get this closer to around $2.00 per meal, sometimes even less.
Now, let's look at the price of the Nutrisystem Flex plan. The base price of this one is $234.95. This is obviously a good deal cheaper ($78.05 to be exact) but you have to consider that you are only getting enough food for twenty days because you are taking two days per week (and ten days per month) off. So, your cost per meal is a little more now, about $2.35. You're automatically signed up with auto delivery on this plan, but you can cancel at any time. They offer free shipping with this one too and they still offer you the ability to go with plan favorites or to hand pick the foods that you want at no extra charge. The price point is obviously lower so this alone will appeal to a lot of folks.
However, if you're looking at only money alone and you know that you're going to be on this diet for a while, then the cost per meal can be made the be a good deal cheaper on the regular Nutrisystem plan. I know folks who will just use coupons for the regular package and then do flex on their own. They'll just skip their two days as they would on the other plan. And they will save ten meals per month and then order their second package and again save ten meals per month so that by the time they get to the third month, they're basically getting that one free, since they already have twenty meals stashed. Of course, this depends on your needing to stay with the diet for that long. Some folks only have a small amount of weight to lose and a few months is enough time to accomplish this for many.
The bottom line is whether the flex program makes sense for you is going to depend on your unique situation and how much weight you have to lose. The price point is attractive, but the foods are no different and you are only getting less of them. Both plans have high customer satisfaction and good results, so you really can't go wrong no matter which you chose.
