First of all - Traffic is your FRIEND.
WHAT?
Yes, that's right. If you think of traffic (the people visiting your website) as your friends, you are on the right track.
Take this for example.
Let's imagine that you are an insurance broker. You might have the best "sales-pitch" in your whole company.
What is the chances of you selling an insurance product to a random stranger that you have just met in the street? I would say your chances is very slim don't you think? Even if you have the ABSOLUTE BEST sales pitch, the chances for you to succeed is very slim. I would say NONE.
First of all, the stranger that you're selling might not even be interested in insurance. Maybe don't need it at all...
Now what if he is looking to get insurance, would he buy from somebody he doesn't know from a bar of soap?
Now take that exact same broker with the perfect sales pitch. Image for instance he meets a stranger on the golf course. They begin to chat and play a round of golf together.
After a couple of holes, you get on the subject of business and what each other are doing. After a few more holes you talk about the something completely different.
What do you think is the chances for you to sell your "NEW" friend insurance after a round of golf. You can tell him that if he is interested, maybe you can 'organize' him a better deal; or provide him better service than what he is currently getting. You'll make 70% + of the sales if you get to know your prospect and even better if your prospect starts to trust you.
Now the exact same principles account for internet marketing.
Get to know your leads. Know what they are looking for.
If you absolutely know that somebody is interested in example; losing-weight, then you can sell him a weight-loss product in a blink of an eye.
Bottom line, know what the people want and give it to them.
