Without access to high-level consultation and without much experience knowing that SEO techniques can be trusted, there are also plenty of misinformation about SEO strategies and techniques.

1. Commit yourself to the process. SEO isnt a one-time event. Search engine algorithms change regularly, so the Techniques that worked last year may not work this year. SEO requires a long-term outlook and commitment.
2. Be patient. Search engine optimization is not about instant gratification. Results often take months to see, and this is especially true the smaller you are, and the newer you are to doing business online.

5. Have web paralytics in place at the beginning. You must have clearly defined goals for your SEO efforts, and you'll need web paralytics software in place so you can track what works and what does not.
6. Build a great website. You want to see on the first page of results. Ask yourself: My site is truly one of the top 10 sites in the world on this subject? Be honest. If not, do better.
7. Include a site map page. Spiders can not index pages that can be explored. A site map will help spiders find all the important pages of your site and better understand the hierarchy of the spider your site. This is particularly useful if your site has a navigation menu difficult to explore. If your site is important, make several site map pages. Keep everyone at least 100 links. I tell clients 75 is the max for sure
8. Make SEO-friendly URLs. Use keywords in your URLs and file names, such as your domain.com/red-widgets.HTML. Dont overdo it, though. A file with 3+ hyphens tends to look spam and users may be hesitant to click on it. Related bonus tip: Use hyphens in URLs and file names, not underscores. Hyphens are treated as a space, while underscores are not.
9. Do keyword research at the beginning of the project. If you're on a tight budget, use the free versions of Keyword Discovery or Word Tracker, both of which also have more powerful paid versions. Ignore the figures show these tools, what is important is the relative volume of a keyword to another. Another good free tool is Google AdWords Keyword Tool, which does not show the exact number.
10. Use a unique title and Meta description and relevant to each page. The page title is the most important factor in SEO on the page. It is rare to be well placed for an initial period (2-3 words) without the term being part of the title page. The Meta description tag will not help you rank, but it will often appear as the snippet of text below into your ad, they should include the relevant keyword (s) and be drafted to encourage researchers to click on your ad. Related bonus tip: You can ignore the Meta Keywords altogether if you want, it almost accordingly. If you use it, put misspellings in there, and all the related keywords that do not appear on the page.
