. Holm, announced today that their flagship website, Your World Outdoors.Com will down-size and refocus its target market. BH Publishing will also be starting up a new niche website catering to wilderness campers.Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN-WI - Publisher & Editor, William C. Holm, announced today that their website, Your World Outdoors.Com will undergo a through redesign to bring it into line with current e-commerce realities by down-sizing and refocusing its target market. BH Publishing will also be starting up a new niche website catering to die-hard campers and to the survivalist community.
In announcing the major restructuring of its YWO website, Mr. Holm stated, Initially we were attempting to reach the general outdoor on-line community, however, after three years we realized that our target area was too broad. Now we will be focusing on two distinct outdoor audiences. Our main website, Your World Outdoors.Com, will be chiefly devoted to Outdoor Books, Magazines, and Nature Photography. A new companion website, Your World Outdoors.Us, highlights the latest in wilderness camping & survival gear for the rugged outdoors person. Mr. Holm further stated that smaller niche websites work better for SEO optimization and transitioning viewers to active shoppers.
Last year we built out Your World Outdoors to encompass everything outdoors by adding allot of content in various outdoor fields. Unfortunately, our marketing efforts to reach the broader outdoor community did not work, plus there was too much competition from the big name retailers. We just did not have the advertising dollars to raise our visibility to outdoor groups and individuals. After many meetings with our board and staff, we decided to go after wilderness campers and outdoor survival customers.
Finally, in releasing news of the reorganization, the owner remarked that several on-going projects have been postponed.
