Benches Can Add Beauty & Functionality To Parks And Recreation Centers
Who doesn't like a nice stroll or a bird-feeding jaunt in the park
? Whether you're there to take a walk in the woods, or to root on your kids at their little league game, a place to rest is a welcome addition for a lot of people.
What better way to enjoy the day at a park, or enjoy the landscaping in your back yard than park benches? That way you can sit and rest, without wondering if you're ruining your clothes by sitting in the dirt or grass.
Benches come in loads of different designs and colors, and many different materials. Perhaps you want a traditional looking wrought iron or wooden park design.
Maybe you're looking for a greener option, utilizing recycled materials, or maybe you're looking to find a heavy duty style you can turn up, in order to withstand heavy use.
Will there be small children needing a place to sit? will there be small children mistreating the chairs? Will they see a lot of use? Will the seating be out year-round, or just in nicer weather? These are all things to consider when you're considering park seating.
Some park seats are designed to surround a tree. Some benches are designed with backs and some are designed without backs, and they may or may not have arm ests. Some seats are designed with individual seats, determined by the arm rests throughout the seating area, rather than just at the ends.
There are benches made of powder-coated steel. There are some made of recycled materials. Wooden ones can be stained or painted, or left as they are, to weather the elements. There are many that are stand-alone, and those that are designed to go along with a picnic table.
There are handicapped-accessible park benches as well. These may be designed mostly like typical seats, but have an addition. They may be designed with a full length grab bar across the back of the bench, in order to best facilitate transfer to and from the seating area
Certain ones are designed to be able to offer a custom message on the seat itself. Other options may include plaques and signs. This may be a terrific option to consider if you're working on the landscaping or planning of a memorial park, or just want to help deter theft by labeling the benches with the park's name.
Some furniture is attached to the ground in some way, either cemented in or possibly chained at the bench legs. This is usually to deter theft, although in some cases there may be some reason to want to be able to move the furniture.
There are portable seating furniture options for these circumstances. This way, you can store them in cold weather, and only have them out in warm weather, or you can move them around for different purposes.
Maybe your park does theater in the park programs, or you have nature classes of some sort. Portable seating, even if temporarily attached to the ground, would be a great thing to help suit those needs.
