Applicable Types Of Business Card Holders To Be Found
Share: The seventeenth and eighteenth centuries found France and England beginning the use
of business cards, which had been developed by China in the fifteenth century. Most often used by aristocrats and nobles, the business cards started off as "visiting" cards, and at a later date, used as business or trading cards. Business card holders as we know them today were not used.
Employed as an announcement to the household that a visitor was there, there was an exact manner of their usage. People would place the card in a silver tray that was found on the table at the entry of the home. A servant would use it to announce their arrival.
Eventually, these cards would be so popular that people had printed on one side a baseball players picture and contact information on the other. As can be seen, then, this was the advent of what is now known as a collector card.
If you can devise it, an artisan can craft it. Card holders embody a marvelous selection: traditional, whimsical or down-to-business styles. When they became so popular, they were not only carried as visiting cards but businesses began to find them useful at point-of-purchase areas. Those at home started to like the idea of different means of collecting these cards as well. So, then they were to be seen as desk, counter or wall models in stores as well as portable.
Types that are carried in pockets, purse or briefcase can have a flip top, much like a box cigarette pack. Others are seen to open like a cigarette lighter, exposing the card inside. Embossing and personalizing will also be seen on the holders and are made of leather, plastic or gold and silver. Those carried on a person are usually not as decorative in shape and design as those that are stationary. The design, style and material will determine whether they are upscale in cost or more moderately priced.
Career-specific models are used by businesses and are patterned after some of the tools of their trades. For example, stethoscope or dentures for a doctor or dentists' office or another item from their practices. An attorney's law books perhaps could be copied as a holder. Or an architects' line of work could be depicted by tools they use every day. Maybe a suit or pair of shoes for a men's suit shop. A huge variety of items might be conceivably constructed as a card holder, such as heavy equipment, boats, trees, a car, or even animal shapes.
Have a costume shop? Try using a small, miniature guillotine as a card holder. That would catch the eye! Or maybe a finger! If an antique store employed a tiny treasure chest in that capacity, it would please the eye. These are all examples of designs of things used in a daily business day that could be handcrafted for different avocations and appeal to the consumer, perhaps drawing them back.
In vogue are also the wall-mounted type of Business Card Holders. These are usually seen as multiple-card holders. Also stylish and trendy are most often seen in the binder and Rollo Dex type of holders.
