Allied Wallet - A Skeptics in Depth Review

I have used Allied Wallet for a little over 5 months now and I have found very few reviews about them

. Allied Wallet is a merchant services company which allows many sites, like mine, to accept credit cards from their websites. When seeking out credit card processors, like Allied Wallet, there are a few points of interest that must be looked at to accurately assess whether or not they are a great company, and even more importantly, a great fit for you company. I have outlined 5 concerns which merchants should look out for processors and then reflect upon my experiences with Allied Wallet thus far.

1. Customer Service and Open Communication

A merchant and their processor should always be in constant communication. If you are unable to reach them with ease, then what will you do if a crisis came about. Time lost is money lost so make sure you choose a payment processor who is readily available to answer any questions you may have.

Allied Wallet has been great with this. I have only encountered a few problems on my end. Each time I called them I was immediately able to speak to someone who was able to answer any of the questions I had or change some configurations for me. Allied Wallet's email response time is also on par with their main competitors and I have had no problems whatsoever.

2. Timely Payments

Nothing is worse than not receiving an expected payment. The companies are in charge of your money and it is extremely unprofessional if they do not send out the money they owe you. Make sure that your processor pays you on time every time. If they slip up once, and they are usually on the ball, count it as a very rare fluke or system malfunction. If it happens more than once, it is time to move on to greener pastures.

Allied Wallet has been great with this as well. I have experienced absolutely zero hiccups in their payout process; the wires have hit my account every Thursday like clockwork. Which brings me to another great feature with Allied Wallet, they payout weekly. Very few payment processors payout each week, most make your business wait 14-30 days between payouts. While Allied Wallet does have a 12 day delay (week 1's revenue is paid in week 3), the payouts do come each week. This allows your business to be much more liquid which is very important in these trying times.

3. Downtime

Does your payment processor ever have downtime? They shouldn't. Downtime equals a loss in revenue for your business. If your payment processor goes down, even for a few minutes, they better have an amazing excuse or else you should start packing your bags and wave goodbye.

Allied Wallet boasts a 99.9% up time. In my five months of doing business with Allied Wallet I have not seen that 0.001% downtime come into play. They have assured me that they employ safeguards to protect against any downtime.

4. Professionalism and Presentation

Would you buy a filet mignon and fine champagne from McDonalds? Then why would you spend time dealing with a company whose website and technology looks like it was created during the late 1990's. How a company presents itself both in person and online says a lot about its service. If they are not willing to go the extra mile to separate them from the competition, then there is no way they would go an extra inch to help you out if you ever needed it.

Allied Wallet's web design is actually what caught my eye five months ago when I stumbled onto their website. Their technology looks very modern and runs as such. Their staff operates the same way, easy to deal with and they do really seem like they want to help.

5. Greed

It is very easy for a payment processor to take advantage of its clients. Few clients have intimate knowledge regarding the specifics of the merchant services industry and all too often we see complaints of business owners being scammed and taken advantage of. In fact, I believe way too many payment processors are scams! So be careful! Watch out for hidden fees, scam sign up charges, and ridiculous rate hikes. There are more than enough sincere fish in the payment processing sea who would love to accept your business.

So how does Allied Wallet fare? Pretty well actually. I was a bit leery at first as I always am with credit card processors. It is a vicious world out there so I am always skeptical of everything they do. The first thing I noticed was that Allied Wallet has no sign up fee. This is a great sign. Allied Wallet does not need to make its money from shoveling clients into the door and charging them to sign up; instead they seem to form a lasting relationship which leads to a much more successful business for both parties involved. To date I have not been hit by any surprising fees or charges and I really don't suspect that I will.

Conclusion:

All in all I have to say that Allied Wallet has surpassed my expectations as a payment processor. They pass all of the "skeptic tests" I put them through and exceeded what I hoped for. Would I recommend Allied Wallet to a friend or family member? I do believe I would. There are plenty of other choices out there, but very few actually seem to be as personal as Allied Wallet is... and in the harsh world of ecommerce, it is nice to know they will have my back.
