A Clean Office Means a More Productive Workforce

Share: Using cleaning supplies to keep your business clean and tidy is crucial to maintaining staff wellbeing, especially if you have a large workforce.
As the winter months draw in, windows are closed and heating turned up, providing a perfect breeding ground for bugs and germs. But, by keeping the office workspace and areas around it including the kitchen and bathrooms clean, the conditions will no longer be optimum for germs to breed. Fewer bugs means less staff sickness; if all your staff are well and operating at their best then productivity in the workforce will increase, which means the company makes a better profit.
It doesn't take much to clean the workplace. Cleaning supplies are easy to come by and relatively in-expensive. Hand held sprays for the desk tops, computer screen wipes and antibacterial hand gel is something every member of staff should have to hand. Other cleaning supplies, such as antiseptic sprays are useful for phones, printers, computer mice and chair handles, which are frequently touched every day by numerous members of staff. Using these products will minimise the spread of germs within the office itself.
The kitchen is another area that needs regular cleaning, as a dirty kitchen is likely to attract mice and other vermin. Stronger cleaning supplies such as bleach may be necessary in the kitchen, to remove traces of food from the tables and work top. Regularly wiping the kettle with an antibacterial wipe is a good way of minimising the transmission of germs from person to person. Other crucial spots are taps, refrigerator handles and cupboard handles, all of which are areas of common contact.
It goes without saying that a clean bathroom is a must. Cleaning supplies like antiseptic hand wash and hand gel are a great way making sure your work force maintain a high level of hygiene. Hand drying systems dry hands much more effectively than paper towels and are also less likely breeding grounds for germs. Offices still using paper towel systems should consider replacing them; hand driers are not only more cost-effective in the long run but they are also more eco-friendly than disposal towels.
