subject: Diesel Trucks [print this page] For testing we gathered some biggest cabs and three big all wheel drive pickups that have automatic transmission. These trucks are called as mega-machines that provide excellent comfort, fuel efficiency and heavy hauling performance. We tested these trucks on our 300 mile fuel economy loop on the track. After that we attached the load to each one of the vehicle. Each vehicle was attached to a Zieman 1165 equipment trailer which comes from Zieman Trailer manufacturing in San Bernardino, Calif. We loaded all of them with John Deere 27D excavator. The total combined weight was around 9120 pounds. We moved to the steepest highway and snake like streets of Los Angeles to see how these trucks perform.
