subject: Teri Hatcher Takes Role in Smallville [print this page]

She is very well known as Susan Mayer, one of the main character in the in drama-comedy series Desperate Housewives. But, did you know that Teri Hatcher was once known as Lois Lane? Yes, Teri Hatcher had played the role of Lois Lane for 4 years in the TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman which runs from 1993 to 1997. In fact, at the height of the show's popularity in 1995, a Teri Hatcher in Superman cape photo was reportedly the most downloaded image on the Internet averaging 20,000 downloads each month for a six month period.

Choosing Teri Hatcher to play the role of Ella Lane, the deceased mother of Lois seems very fitting. It seems like a reincarnation of the old Lois Lane of the 90's.

On the Smallville - Abandoned episode, left in grief and sorrow, Lois walked to the fortress and make a new decision that is about to change her life.

Lois was so depressed upon seeing the video of her mother's death. She knew it well that more than anyone else, her mother was her greatest fortress and pacifier in times of her distress. Her emotions made her to venture into the future and with that, she made a decision that for sure even Clark would be shocked.

Tess on the other hand will be travelling back to the years reminiscing the times she spent in the orphanage where she and Clark are investigating. Coincidentally as well, Tess found out that the orphanage she and Clark are investigating are the same as the place where she had spent her most saddest years. And on the process, Tess will be enclosed on the same walls and corners where the woman was turned into what she is at present.
