subject: Running your own indoor soccer business [print this page]

Opening your own business is at this moment the preferred option for various people in the present fiscal climate as worthwhile jobs become harder to discover, but before you draw your entire life savings and invest it in your own indoor soccer business. What do you need to understand?

So how do you run a new venture? You've always been the one who is told what to do. Straight away the shoe is truly on the other foot - you allocate the commands now. However what commands do you give to your employees? What tells do you dispatch? How do you know if what you are saying or doing is the right thing for your new indoor soccer business? It was effortless in the past...the boss spoke...and you carried out what he/she said then you got rewarded at the end of the day. This is a little trickier, if you get things wide of the mark now, not only will you not get paid (or get paid less), your decisions could impact in the negative upon your workers.

Be shrewd when running your own business - for sure you want to make money, but not at all costs. What are the costs of business compared with just being a member of staff? You have more responsibility to yourself, your relatives and staff if you have any - they are all dependent on you for their economic safety. Scary! Running your own business normally means working longer hours and you may not make any money from working those long hours where previously you may have got paid per hour/day. A guaranteed salary!

However having no financial worries is a great comfort though.

Were you one of those at school? Who's class report said..."This one will never amount to much!" What a feeling that would be to go back into your old school and say to your old teacher - "look I am running my own business now - how's the teaching going these years?"

We live in a big world; their are thousands of indoor soccer businesses - but they aren't all the same; as a new entrepreneur it's your task to run your business the most professional way you see fit by your experiences you've derived in life so far.

Hardly any people start their own business - most people don't have the gumption. The question is do you have it? Are you going to drive yourself in business as well as in life?
