subject: Avoid Stress By Having Fun And Relaxing [print this page] The best thing you could do is set aside a relaxation time each day. This relaxation time should be taken as your sacred time and should focus only on providing you with the best relaxation and fun. This is important to recharge your batteries to get back to work the next day and this time should not be compromised under any circumstances. You can either listen to your favorite music while lounging along a pool side or indulge in a painting spree or a simple bird watching excursion. Whatever it is that gives you peace of mind and lowers your stress levels, then you can do that. Do something that gives you peace of mind and takes you away from the hum drum of the busy life.
The next important thing to do is pamper yourself. Every once in a while visit a nice spa and indulge into some exotic treatments to nurture and relax your body. Alternatively, you can also go for a swim in the pool or get your hair or nails done. It is also said that shopping is the biggest stress busters especially for girls. So do not shy away from shopping. Instead a shopping spree every once in a while is healthy. It only helps you pamper yourself thus relieving stress out of your system. However, do not attempt it if your funds are low the time when you need to distress as this will lead to more stress in the future, when the bills need to be paid. Another important fact to consider is to include exercise in your regular regime. Physical activity is a great stress buster and puts your mind off stressing issues, at least for a while. It is important that you follow a schedule of 30-45 minutes of exercise each day to stay away from stress. Besides exercise and dieting also plays a major role in activating your stress management system. It is often observed that people who are well nourished and fit suffer from less stress as compared to people who are not. Make sure you always have your breakfast, lunch and dinner on time. Avoid spices and pungent food that increase the heat and stress levels in your body.
People who suffer from high stress levels often take binges of coffee, sugar, soft drinks, chocolates, etc. however, these food are high on caffeine and sugar and can give you only temporary high. Avoiding this food makes you sleep better and hence relieves you of stress. Some people also get on to the consumption of cigarettes, alcohol and drugs in order to avoid stress. But one must not forget the ill effects of their consumption. It also leads to social stigma and the person might get addicted to that kind of stuff. The best way to deal with all this is deal with your stressors head on rather than avoiding or neglecting the situation at hand. It only helps when you talk or act on a certain situation.
