subject: Delonghi Esam3300 Review- An Overview Of The Esam3300 [print this page] My mom, an avid espresso drinker, gave us the Delonghi Esam3300 for Christmas last year. She knew that my wife and I had taken an extended trip through Europe last year, and had sampled some great espresso. We have owned the Esam3300 for 7 months now, which is plenty of time to write this review from our experiences
First and foremost, this machine produces some awesome espresso and other coffee beverages! I know that mentioning the quality of the espresso should be obvious, but some people get carried away with the automation.
They actually forget to mention how good the coffee beverages are! It is an attractive unit, as well. It really "dresses up" our kitchen. My wife really likes how compact it is, The magnifica doesn't "hog" counter space.
Although it does have an automatic shut off, which is convenient, it does not have automatic activation. Consequently, you do have to wait a minute or two in the morning to get it going.
Another cool features is the coffee spigot height, which can be adjusted. It can accomodate standard size espresso cups as well as large mugs.
The Delonghi Esam3300 uniquely features two stainless-steel boilers that offer superb heat distribution, in addition to an instant reheat function, that allows the machine to be at a perfect temperature, no matter what the time is between cups.
It also features a quiet burr grinder which automatically grinds beans and can be adjusted to a specific grinding level. If you want ground coffee, this model can acomodate that, too.
The switches and controls are located in the front, and are all pretty intuitive. However, you may have to refer to the manual to determine what all the flashing lights mean.
We have tried a variety of beans, most of which were quite good. We do prefer non oily beans, though. We have given Starbucks quite a bit of business, recently!
