If you are like thousands of us who have already started building a new career with a network marketing home based business, congratulations. You are embarking on an exciting new journey of personal discovery and personal career development. However, there is a stark truth you should be aware of: 95% of all network marketing businesses fail. Read on and I'll explain the five fatal mistakes to avoid.

Network Marketing

Although the statistics can be sobering, it should offer some solace to know that your personal career development and the future of your business are entirely in your own hands. Network marketing works, it's a great place to build a new career. You can learn from the mistakes of others and ensure your own success.

Five Fatal Mistakes

1. Cold Lists - Maybe the biggest mistake you can make in the network marketing business is to let your leads list get cold. For traditional MLM businesses looking for new reps or innovative new Top Tier marketers looking for new customers, a hot and healthy leads list is the life's blood of your business.

2. Attitude - I'm sure you've already heard talk of the law of attractions but let me stress the point: your attitude directly affects how well you succeed. If you want to win, have a winning attitude with a mindset for business and wealth mindset. If you're sure you will fail you almost certainly will. It's a simple as that.

3. Expectations - Having reasonable expectations is another key factor. Do not fall into the trap of expecting overnight success. It just doesn't work that way, ever. Your business will succeed if you work hard at it and don't give up. Otherwise, you're likely to join the other 95 percent of disappointed network marketers.

4. Avoiding Growth - While we're on the subject, you cannot ignore personal career development. It must become a priority in your life. Very, very few people get into the business world possessing all the skills they need already. We all had to learn new things and master new skills before we reached success.

5. Lackluster Leadership - There are so many sad tales of downlines who just got fed up and frustrated by the lack of leadership in their team and gave up. If your leader is not inspiring you, motivating you and teaching you it's time to find a new one. Quickly.

Stick To It

Don't let the statistics discourage you, rather let them motivate you that much more to succeed. If you commit to avoiding the mistakes I've laid out here and continue to work on your own personal career development you will almost certainly be in the 5% of winners.
