This is a drive which gives you not only a great view back over the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town but as you round the mountain there is also a great view of Cape Town's False Bay coastline. This provides a great vantage point where you can watch for whales from your car. At the end of the drive head down to Kalk Bay main road where you can park the car and go explore the antique shops and boutiques. The more adventurous can head on along the coast to Simons Town where you can hire a kayak and paddle out into the bay.
Cape point
The Cape Point Nature Reserve is not just the tip of Cape Town but the very tip of Africa. It has many kilometres of scenic drives through natural fynbos and great sea views. It also offers the opportunity to view the wildlife form the comfort of your car. Animals you may see include the cape mountain zebra, many species of buck including the eland and bontebok and ostriches. You are also likely to see baboons, just remember it is illegal to feed them and they are notorious vandals so always make sure your car doors and windows are closed. You can also park the car and go explore the many hiking trails or hire a mountain bike and take a ride around.
