If you have never had to hire a caterer before, this may be a little strange. The best way to hire one is to interview a few before making a choice. Naturally price is going to be an issue but that does not mean the cheapest one is going to be the best. While you would like to stay under budget, the way to do so is not by scrimping on the food.

If you are at a loss as to what to serve at your corporate events, tell the caterer how much you have to spend and see if they can suggest what to serve. They are much more knowledgeable about this type of thing than you are so they would have a better idea what is served at different types of events. But do not allow them to think they are the only one you are considering, because in order to get your business, they may offer a good deal.

When it comes to finding a caterer you know will be trustworthy, ask if there is one your company has used before. This can help you to find one in short order if they have had luncheons or other corporate events catered in the past.

The help you can get from others who have already gone through this can be invaluable. You may be at a loss at first however; if you pay attention you will have it down in no time. You will be ordering like a pro after the first couple of catered corporate events.

If no one has any ideas, try your internet yellow pages. Look for caterers, party rentals, and some restaurants cater. They should say this if you look through their large page ads. Asking anyone you think would have used a caterer is another option. Make sure you ask if the catering experience was a good one or bad.

Reviews are another good place to search. There are many sites that have reviews of anything imaginable. So it should not be difficult to find a few reviews of caterers. The entertainment guide may be helpful here.

If the corporate events that you will be hosting are going to have large numbers of people attending, it will not hurt to find out if there are discounts available for repeat orders or large orders. The caterer you use may automatically suggest a discount for your order, but then again they may not. There are many that offer first time discounts, as well as special prices on certain foods. This is just something you will have to work out when deciding what catering company that you will be using for the corporate events you are hosting.

If in doubt about a catering company there is always the option of checking them out with the Better Business Bureau. This is one of many options to let you know if a company has had a lot of complaints or unresolved issues. If so this may be one you want to steer clear of for your catering needs.About the Author:
