Taking Care Of Your Neon Sign

Having your own bar at home is more than just getting your own bar supplies and accessories as well as brewing equipment. If you would really want to complete the local bar look and feel of your home bar, you would also need to invest on some quality wall decorations.

Some home bar owners usually go for a number of neon beer and pub signs as well as neon clocks in order to decorate their bar room walls. Aside from this, neon signs also make for a good wall dcor for dorm rooms as well as your own bedroom. However, neon signs do not last forever and there would come a time when you would need to replace them.

As with most projects involving electrical gadgets, the first step that you have to take when replacing the neon tube on your neon bar signs is to unplug it. Once you have done this, you need to locate where the tubes meet. Oftentimes, you would need to twist the insulation to get to the wires. If this is not possible, you would need to cut through the insulation.

Once the wires of your neon pub signs are exposed, you would need to carefully untwist them. Once you have untwisted, the neon tube would most likely pop out. Take the tubes out and then replace them with the new tube. Reconnect the wires and twist them back to place. Plug back the neon sign to check if everything works well.

These are also the steps that you need to take when you have neon bar clocks. However, you would need to remove first clock from its frame before you can work on the neon tubes. Once you have finished replacing the neon tubes, you just have to put the clock back in its frame.

In order to ensure that your neon pub signs and bar clock do not lose their bright light, make sure that you regularly run a dry soft cloth or a feather duster over them to remove any dust that has accumulated. No need to use any cleaning solution to remove the dust.
