Easter Tour Of The Holy Land

If you took the time off from work in order to celebrate Easter with your family, there is no better place to do it than in Israel. It would be impossible to visit the Holy Land at this time you might think. However, if you book and plan way in advance, there is nothing impossible about it.

If you are a committed Christian, then you know that Good Friday is a very significant day for all Christians, wherever they are in the world. This is the day when Jesus died on the cross in order to pay for the sins of millions of people, believers and non-believers alike. The perfect place to do the Way of the Cross is on the same streets Jesus did it hundreds and thousands of years ago.

The pilgrimage of the Christians always includes a visit to the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Via Dolorosa or Way of Sorrows is the path where Jesus walked carrying that heavy cross on His back. The ways are clearly marked for the benefit of the tourists flocking the area during the Lenten season.

The Church of the Holy Sepulcher is the location where Jesus was actually crucified and resurrected. Being this close to history and to the core of your faith can be really inspiring and intense for a lot of people. Christian Holy Land tours are not complete without a visit to these two significant places.

There are a lot of inns, motels and other accommodation establishments in Jerusalem, if you wish to spend the night there. It has been a tourist hub for ages so tourist amenities and facilities are numerous already. In fact, it is ideal to spend the night in Jerusalem if you are on Christian Holy Land tours in order to witness the Holy Fire.

The Holy Fire appears only after the Patriarch of Jerusalem exits the tomb of Jesus Christ. He even spreads the fire towards the pilgrims so they can experience it for themselves. The fire is said to be holy for it does not even burn you even when you touch it. It is a unique experience that should not be missed out during your Christian Holy Land tours.
