Make These Three Strategic Changes For Weight Loss Success

We are all constantly bombarded with diet and exercise tips, plans and programs and with so much information and advice to wade through many people simply throw up their hands in confusion as it all seems too hard.

With so much so called 'expert' information around you would think we should all be slim and trim. No so, two thirds of us are now considered overweight and our collective risk of the many deadly and costly diseases keeps increasing.

But it does not have to be this way; we are not powerless in our desire to live long disease free lives at a healthy body weight. We do however; need to rethink what we think we know about losing weight and keeping it off for the long haul so our disease risk is eliminated or greatly reduced.

For starters, we can forget about quick fixes and any other miracle cure that seems 'instant'. We must get off the endless merry-go-round of yo-yo diets and other myths that keep us fat perpetuating the cycle of weight loss and gain repeated over and over.

Next we need to get rid of as many of the processed foods that we have come to reply on as we look for quick easy methods to feed ourselves. These foods may be quick to prepare but they are laden with chemicals and other harmful items that throw our appetite control hormones 'out of whack.' Forget weight loss if you continue to eat these 'so called foods' that come in pretty boxes with little to zero nutrition that work against your metabolism and cause your body to store fat instead of burn it.

Delicate hunger signals become blurred when chemicals confuse our body and we can no longer determine if we are truly hungry or just have uncontrolled food cravings that cause us to overeat.

Lastly and most importantly we need to rethink what we call exercise. Low intensity activities like walking, jogging or cycling are recreational 'fun' activities. They are not proper exercise, after all we all have legs and we all walk but that does nothing to stop or even slow the epidemic of overweight that our world is experiencing.

We need a proper exercise program and that means we need to work our muscular system as it has been designed to be worked. When muscle cells are stimulated with vigorous movement such as with manual 'work' (as it used to be called) or intentional strength training exercise our 'growth and repair' hormones are stimulated.

These chemical messengers instruct the repair and renewal of old worn out cells and tissues. Younger stronger healthier cells are what protect us from the chronic 'lifestyle' disease such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes that is also epidemic in our modern world.

So, to get off the diet, weight loss and weight gain bandwagon focus on becoming stronger and healthier with proper exercise and proper nutrition. Eat better, more often and eat more quality food and your energy levels will soar. You need this energy to be able to be active enough to change your body and metabolism into the fat burning machine you would like it to be. Just change these three things and success will be yours.
