A Picture May Be Worth More Than A Thousand Words

Constantly reaching and defying the odds, Google is perhaps one of the most innovative companies of our time. A company that is constantly clawing to stay at the top of the internet world, it must be said that the minds of Google truly never sleep. With so many incredible developments stemming from the brains behind the search engine, their developments and the rate at which they hit the web, are truly incredible and keep them on top in their field for sure.

So what are we looking at from them down the road? Well their latest development although still in the ground breaking stages has the world a buzz. Google Goggles as it is now known is a way to use your phone and picture images to web information about the topic that you wish to learn more about.

In essence, how it works is simple. You take out your camera phone and take a picture using the already downloaded Google Goggles application in your phone. Essentially by doing this the image is conveyed to Google Search, which will turn the image into a search able term that it will than provide you further information about.

Now of course, there are only standard images programmed into this system to date, so let's say you take a picture of the Empire State Building on your trip to New York City. This would be an image that Google would have stored, and it would then provide you not only historical information about the structure itself, but would even help you find it on a map, or even find a nearby hotel or restaurant that you may be looking for while traveling in the area.

Certainly, because there are so many different images and varying different views of items, it will most definitely take some time to get the search engine to identify the trillions of images that people might enter for a Google Search. However, this reaches so far beyond anything that the web has yet to accomplish, it is most definitely one of the most earth shaking applications available on the web to date, and definitely a tool that through further development will continue to keep Google on top.
