The economy is in the toilet and the best both sides seem to be able to do is blame the other while people suffer.
Now we have some strong views on certain subjects, but we sell product to everyone regardless of beliefs, but you shouldn't let your mind set stop you from training. No matter what your political outlook might be you need to train and to protect yourself.
Now it seems to me that most liberals see the world as a place that needs to be fixed, and conservatives just want to leave things alone. Well that is a generalization and I've met gun carrying liberals and eco-friendly right wingers, so I doubt everyone agrees with the ideology of their group a hundred percent of the time.
You might be for gay marriage or you might plan to get married just to spite gay people, but regardless of what you think there is someone who is passionately opposed to your way of thinking, and sometimes passion turns to violence. This is when many conservatives say they'd reach for their guns, and most liberals would be dialing 9-11, but until help arrives or you get your weapon out you're on your own.
People have been attacked at peace rallies by both anti-war and pro-war activists, monuments to fallen heroes have been trashed, and controversial art exhibits have been vandalized. Violence can happen anywhere and even if you believe the police should handle things until they get there it is up to control the situation.
Also keep in mind some people don't care whether you're a pacifist or a warmonger, and will try to kill you even if you offer nothing but kindness. You might just be dropping off a package at place where someone sees as the source of all evil in the world, so you can survive and fight or you can give up and be at their mercy.
In politics especial in a free democracy there should be many different views and they should all be heard, and people should be able to work out their differences without conflict, but that isn't always the case. So practice self defense training so you can protect yourself from those who aren't just content to debate and issue, and be ready for those who want to kill you just because.
Religion, politics, and sports will keep us at each other's throats for a long time to come, so train so you can argue about everything for many years to come.
