The state and federal grants can significantly increase a community's ability to attract the private and public resources so that it can take advantage and respect the cultural characteristics of the waterfront.
The Environmental protection funds help to protect the environment which includes open space conservation, public access, historic preservation, urban waterfront redevelopment and water quality improvement. This grant is also used to assist the community to implement their local waterfront revitalization programme and other community plans. The EPF grants are made available annually to all the eligible municipalities by issuing a request for applications in the late spring or early summer.
