But on Halloween, Dracula is still perhaps the most sought out vampire costume. Costumes can be made or bought for people of all ages to look like Dracula. The old-fashioned Dracula character is always an option for the mature Halloween party goers. Of course, teens and kids probably want to look a little more updated and can find plenty of ways to do this. For the toddler, the popular "Count" on kids TV is as cute as you can get. Dracula never goes out of style and can be frightening, cute or even funny.

A Dracula costume can be made pretty easily and there are numerous variations still manufactured for us to buy. You can try a thrift store for the clothing if you don't already have some of it hanging in your closet. Dracula wore a black cape with a stand-up collar with a white shirt, vest and tie and if your hair is light, a black wig would add to the originality of the costume.

To aid you make a frightening outfit, try face paint or white makeup to lighten your skin, paint blood around the corner of your lips, and smudge under your eyes. Then there are the fangs. These are easy to find in stores or online and usually just fit onto your teeth. If you are attending a party and want to be convincing, there are colored contact lenses in red that will definitely make you stand out. This is pretty simple to make if you are a little creative.

There really are many choices and options for vampire costumes. You can go with the new age vampire look and cash in on the Twilight craze. Or if you want to be a vampire through the years, Anne Rice's classic Interview with a Vampire should give you many classy vampire costume ideas.
