subject: Review Canon XSI Kit [print this page] PAS!-This is the second Canon XSI, I bought and put in place, from Amazon. The first was through a third party vendor and came without a warranty card. I should have known better. After receiving my refund I bought a second from Amazon.com. I checked the list with the title "What's in the box" included a "year Canon USA limited warranty. The camera came without a warranty card. It comes back. This looks like a nasty bait and switch. Next time I intention of B & H.
It 'really a beginner DLSR, especially since a line reflects the basic reflex, like ISO and white balance, spot metering, etc., but still below par compared to the EOS 50DS example. But it is a complete value for money if you want to get started with photography, which I think is to consider and form an image with a good capacity for composition. Once this is done, you can point to better equipment. But all told, is a DSLR .. when you want to take that terrible blow, you can always get awesome lenses, which are a huge segment of DSLR photography. So would definitely recommend the EOS 450D to all starting with some amateur photography. Go for it!
Afterthought + Ves - lighter, good screen, easy to use, cost effectiveness
-Ves - max speed ISO - 1600, not a higher end DSLR
I am satisfied with the camera, I just bought the house so I could have a more attractive target. I also added a battery to power the camera, because the body is a bit 'small to hold when you have a large lens on it. I also put on a belt to prevent hand-shake, which helps a lot with the effort to hold the camera heavy. It 'was easy using the camera, I bought a Rebel XSi DVD just so I could learn what all the buttons do faster than it takes to read the manual. I found it extremely useful, since this is my first DSLR. I had the camera for over a year and are happy with him, but it comes with no additional cost. All add some 'more quickly, and can be an expensive hobby! I bought an extender eye, which is great. I think he should have come standard with the camera. The only complaint I have is that the LCD is not just a point and shoot does. I was not able to take the picture in focus. When I said through the viewfinder, I had much better results. I was really spoiled with LCD screen on my point and shoot, so it took a while 'to get used to the viewfinder again.
