I considered everything before making my purchase and have not regretted buying the K-x. I have bought many different cameras over the years but a DSLR was just too expensive for me to consider. Not anymore. This K-x runs with the big boys.
I have had this camera since late December and would give it a very high rating. No problems with anything, but it is a little hard to adjust at first. Easy to use and takes great photos. No battery problems if you set the battery function on the right type of battery and wait a few seconds before turning it on.(I only use rechargable) The batteries should be full charged and the older they are the less time you can use them. I would recommend this camera to the advanced amature or anyone who wants to learn to take very professional looking photos
Para la comunidad hispanoparlante, les comento mi gran conformidad y satisfaccin con mi nueva camara PENTAX K-X. Adquir el kit con lentes 18-55 y 50-200mm y la verdad es que tirar fotos es un gusto. Las caracteristicas y capacidades de esta camara son solo comparables con camaras de precios mucho mayores en otras marcas como Canon o Nikon. Es decir que se obtiene la mejor relacin precio calidad del momento para este segmento pensado para quienes nos gusta la fotografia y queremos tener resultados casi profesionales con la menor inversin.
Muy contento con la camara aunque an me queda un monton de cosas por probar y aprender, como ser el video que an no le inco el diente.
Have been using Pentax products for 30+ years. I'm learning to use the camera. The only problem I've had so far is untrue colors when trying to photograph close-ups of flowers. The purples and reds tend to come out with a pink cast, rather than the true red or true purple of the flower. Photoshop helps, but I'd rather have the camera take a true picture. I'm sure this is a setting issue, I just haven't figured out which setting to change.
Size, shape, and handling of the camera are great.
