subject: Hints For Purchasing A Suit On A Budget [print this page]

When it comes to choosing a suit the days of going in and buying one off the rack still exists but many men like to have their suits tailored made or at least altered to their exact liking. No matter which you choose as your method of purchase there are many things to consider when purchasing a suit.

What is the suit required for

If it is business or formal then it is going to have different demands. Some individuals that are buying a formal suit don't mind spending a great deal of money on the attire with the concept that it will last for years to come. This is true but it will also become outdated and useless long before it becomes worn out. A reasonable price should be paid for a formal suit, and one chosen where perhaps the jacket may not be appropriate for business attire but the pants will be. That way if there is just not being enough use made of the suit then all is not lost.

The material

This is another important aspect that must be considered as well. Ideally if you are purchasing one suit then you want it to be suitable for all seasons.

The style

Again style is important in that you want it to be versatile. If you are a businessman then you will need at least two suits if you are required to dress business formal everyday. If it can be reserved for meetings which are not too frequent then you can buy a suit that will serve a duel purpose, which would be for your formal functions and your business meetings. You will need to shop carefully though paying particular attention to the style so it will fit it with both.

The color

Again pay attention to the color if you are only purchasing one suit and it has to be all seasonal. Staying with a fairly neutral color such as dark blue or grey will keep you in a safety zone.

If you plan the purchase of your suit you can actually get by with having to just own one which means you can afford to buy a little better quality. You will get good use of it throughout the year and it will keep its newness. Then for the next year you can purchase a second suit and still use this year's as a backup.

Be sure to buy a good selection of shirts and ties, as these are great for giving the suit a fresh look about them so you won't feel like you are wearing the same old outfit every time.

With a little bit of planning and creativity you can actually dress very well on a tight budget. Remember though to be sure that you purchase a suit that fits well but is going to allow for a few pounds of fluctuation in your weight either way. If you implement all of these little hints you should end up getting yourself a most acceptable deal on the purchase of your next suit.
