There are many people that start a business with an aim to sell it for a big profit. You can also go online and place your business on craiglist. Many people have a perception that opportunities on Craiglist are scams but this is something that you will have to overcome

There are other websites that are set up wherre you can list your business for sale. The most popular ones are sites such as bizbuysell.com, usabizmart.com and businessbroker.net. By listing your business will not guarantee a sale but it most definetily increase your reach to potential buyers. You can also get a business broker to sell your business if you do not want to do all the work yourself. Bare in mind that all the work they do is discreet, for sample if they were to advertise your business for sale in a trade magazine it would be under their name and not under your name. The important thing to remember when using a broker there is always a fee and this could be as high as 12 percent of the sale price.

The first step when selling your business is to establish the value of your business. As you do not want to sell without having a figure attached, once you have established what the value of your business is then it is time to market and network. Your potential buyer could be right around the next corner.
