History of the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University The Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University was founded in 1897. It was created by the former cadets. Time passed and the main idea of the association was the collaboration between students, organization of different activities to promote students' collaboration, both current and former. Now, the main mission of the organization has changed. Students became interested in other opportunities, so, the association also had to transform its goals. Mission of the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University The mission of the organization is to support students of the University and those who have already graduated from it with the programs which promote aggie spirit. Goals of the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University 1.To be the center of the collaboration between students. 2.To unite the work and the purposes of the University and the Association. 3. To help students and alumni organize their leisure. 4.To provide financial help for those students who deserve it. Thus, it should be concluded that Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University put more useful goals than before. Now, this organization does not only involve students in communication, but also supports those financially; it is not only entertaining, but also provides real help, so necessary for students.
