It is also UL classified as providing one hour of fire protection. The safe is extremely fire resistant, but it is not necessarily watertight. For added protection it is wise to seal papers and photographs in waterproof bags.
This safe will take a lot of abuse and still protect your belongings and it won't take up a lot of space in your home. It doesn't have any electronic parts that require electricity and so no tiny buttons to push or worry about melting in a fire.
