Jeff Usner Shares About Patience And Persistence In Business

Let's talk about patience and persistence as I share a story about one of the first successes I had when I first started in this industry. It was just before January and, as you know, the start of the year is a good time for weight loss because many people will be looking on the internet for ways to lose a few pounds.

I found out that Oprah was going to feature weight loss on her show that month. In this type of situation, what you want to do is plan ahead and get in place to capture all the traffic that Oprah will be driving to her website from people who want to lose weight. I built a campaign around the keyword "oprah.com." This is a secret I want to share with you - building on domain names is a very powerful tool.

I used a weight loss offer that was geared towards Oprah fans so that everything would be congruent. What I mean by congruent is that the page people see after they click on an ad should have the same content as what they clicked on. For example, if they clicked on an ad for oprah.com weight loss, the page that they go to should be an Oprah weight loss page.

If a person clicks on an ad for xyz weight loss and he lands on a page that's a different weight loss program, it loses the congruency factor and the next thing you know that person is gone. You will see a much higher conversion if the campaign is congruent.

At that time we were able to generate hundreds of sales of weight loss products that paid out $38 each. That was an eye opener for me when I first started in affiliate marketing, especially when I received a $20,000 (gross) affiliate check for one week's activity.

Although this Oprah campaign generated a ton of revenue, it only lasted for a few weeks. From February to April I hit a roadblock. I spent a lot of money but I wasn't seeing a return on my investments. I was very frustrated because I couldn't get anything to work. It was only in May and June that I was able to come up with some ideas that were able to help me make millions of dollars. The key to that is to be patient and persistent.

Most people fail in affiliate marketing because when they start s business they run into a few problems and they quit. It's very likely that at some point you will get stuck. Expect a ton of failure, more failure that you have ever had in your job. Don't give up. Try to keep your spirits up by listening to other people's success stories and learning from other people who make 8 figures from affiliate marketing. You have to be patient and believe that you can do it. If you persist through all the problems you encounter, you will create results that you want in your life.
